CIRCLES + COMMUNITY = CIRCLESCOOP
For the past 3 years, we have been working close to our community of individuals and businesses based in Berlin, with whom we share the vision of UBI and our will for an alternative people-powered economy.
Taking the decision of consolidating ourselves as Circlescoop in this arduous project hasn’t been an easy road. We had to learn how to make decisions as a constantly evolving and growing team. While dealing with the complexities and opportunities of a technology we are collectively unfolding along our way. Moreover, with the social responsibility of providing our committed community with the necessary tools to make the idea of a UBI without state possible.
As Circlescoop we have two main goals. The first one is to provide empowerment and backup support to communities around the world who want to join Circles pluriverse. But we know we cannot do this alone with theory. Therefore, our second goal is to build up a flagship pilot in Berlin, where we can gain first hand experiences about the Circles system. The joint work we were able to do with the Berlin Circles community has given us the wonderful gift of participating in the very first active circles communities.
SAME VALUES, SAME PEOPLE, EVEN CLOSER!
Seeking to facilitate ways of shared decision making, we have been holding regular assemblies. Considering our partners’ feedback as experience-based knowledge, we have been able to identify the main needs for designing our primary products, Circles.garden and Circles.Marketplace. And we are sure these are solid foundations for all that is about to come.
Being able to offer monthly local markets in Berlin, at the same time as having a digital marketplace, has allowed us to experience exchanging with CRC from local to planetary. By understanding the aspects that CRC brings into play, we can open up possibilities for consolidating an alternative economy that prioritizes care work, fair exchange, and responsible consumption.
As a design team of Circlescoop, we are aware of our position within the Circles' pluriverse, and we recognize the significance of being accountable in this regard. Therefore, it is essential for us to foster feedback loops within the entire Circles community, in order to take decisions regarding the direction of our product. These feedback loops are a means of complementing the visions within our team and allow us to strengthen our collective efforts.
Documenting our experience is also a way of communicating our resources. We are happy to present the first online Circles library in several languages. You will find different materials explaining how Circles works, business-specific content, as a free design repository. Sharing materials is a take to collectivise resources and actively support care work. By making our communication materials, presentation templates, and visual elements accessible we aim to support the work of community activation all around the world.
SAME VALUES, SAME PEOPLE, NEW LOOK!
Through our positive experience with the Berlin community and the Berlin subsidy program, Circlescoop's horizons are expanding. From local to planetary, great new things are coming. New infrastructure projects, hubs and communities are on the way. For this reason, we want to visibly strengthen our belonging to the Circles pluriverse, while advocating for the celebration of differences.
With clear visibility of our work, our community will be able to identify trustable sources of information, experiences and ideas related to Circlescoop. In the same spirit, it will be clear that we are one of the projects of this increasingly diverse, pluriverse of Circles.
As a design team, we see this rebranding as the embodiment of the effort and work done by Circlescoop. Giving a new look, that makes us closer to you, is a way to reaffirm the roots of what we have done so far and prepare ourselves for all that is to come. With our new website, we want to offer a welcoming platform to all those who feel the desire to make Circles' pluriverse grow.
